NEC MEN’S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Justin Scott, Hobart 
Jr., Mississauga, Ontario/Trinity-Pawling School

Scott became Hobart's third NEC Player of the Week winner in as many weeks to start the season, registering five goals and one assist in a 19-16 loss to Cornell on Friday. The Mississauga, Ontario native drew Hobart within one on his first pair of tallies, bringing the score to 5-4 and then 7-6. Playing against a team that has moved up to No. 3 in the national poll, the junior cashed in for a hat-trick in the first half as the Statesmen battled to within 11-8 at halftime. Scott finished the day with six points after adding a couple more goals in the final two frames.  

NEC MEN’S LACROSSE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kevin Beimfohr, Bryant 
Sr., G, Mountain Lakes, NJ/Mountain Lakes

A Bryant goalie earned NEC defensive honors for a second straight week following Beimfohr's 14-save performance in a 6-5 win over Dartmouth on Saturday. The Mountain Lakes, NJ product was stellar in the big moments of the low scoring contest as he came up with a doorstep deflection save in the final moments to preserve the victory. He finished the day with an impressive .737 save percentage in his first start of the season. Last week, freshman Luke Caracciolo earned the DPOW award for the Bulldogs.

NEC MEN’S LACROSSE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jared McMahon, Mount St. Mary's  
Fr., Bloomsbury, NJ/North Hunterdon

McMahon recorded three goals and two assists in the Mount's 13-10 defeat at the hands of UMBC on Saturday. The Retrievers went on a 7-1 run in the first half before the freshman shifted the momentum with a goal in the second quarter.  The Bloomsbury, NJ product played a role in three consecutive goals for the Mount that narrowed the score to 11-9 late in the third. He found the back of the net 2:05 minutes apart before assisting on the Mount's fifth goal of the quarter with just over two minutes to play. McMahon finished the game with five points with four coming in the third frame.  
 
NEC PRIME PERFORMERS

Matt Schmidt, Robert Morris, Sr., Attack

  • Five goals and two assists in 15-7 win over Bellarmine.  

Jake Fiske, BRY, Jr., D

  • Four caused turnovers and four ground balls in 6-5 victory against Dartmouth.  

Sam Stephan, Mount, Sr., FO

  • 21 of 27 (.778) at the faceoff X against UMBC.  

Joseph Cipoletti, SHU, Sr., D

  • Three caused turnovers, six ground balls and one assist in loss to Boston University
  • Three caused turnovers, seven ground balls and a goal against Fairfield 

Ryan Smith, RMU, Jr., A

  • Recorded three goals, two assists, two ground balls and three caused turnovers

Chris Aslanian, HOB, Sr., A

  • Dished out five assists as the Statesmen offense put up 16 in a loss to Cornell
