NEC WOMEN’S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dani Donoghue, Mount St. Mary's
Jr., Midfield, Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City
Donoghue, a junior midfielder, led all NEC scorers this past week with seven points, tallying six goals while tacking on an assist in a 1-1 week for Mount St. Mary's. She padded her stat line by collecting seven ground balls and causing a pair of turnovers. Donoghue got her week going with a three-point effort against UMBC on Wednesday, scoring two goals and dishing out an assist to help lead Mount St. Mary's to the 10-9 win. Four days later, she went off four a team-high four goals in the Mountaineers' defeat at La Salle. Donoghue is a two-time Prime Performer, receiving the honor after netting a game-high four goals in the Mountaineers' season-opening win at Towson.
NEC WOMEN’S LACROSSE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lauren DiStefano, Wagner
Sr., Goalkeeper, West Islip, NY/West Islip
DiStefano had a solid outing between the pipes in Wagner's 12-10 defeat at MAAC preseason favorite Fairfield on Saturday. The senior goalie registered 17 saves against the Stags, who are coming off back-to-back MAAC Championships in 2019 and 2021. DiStefano was lockdown over the first three quarters, holding Fairfield to eight goals while making 14 stops. A native of West Islip, NY, she caused one turnover and collected two ground balls for the Seahawks.
NEC WOMEN’S LACROSSE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Katie Siverson, Wagner
Fr., Midfield, Morristown, NJ/Morristown
Siverson earned NEC Rookie of the Week honors for the first time in her career after netting a pair of goals and claiming a game-high six draw controls in Wagner's hard-fought 12-10 defeat two-time defending MAAC Champion Fairfield on Saturday. The senior midfielder's final goal of the game with 58 seconds left in the third put the Seahawks on top, 9-8, but a fourth-quarter surge would secure the win for the Stags. A Morristown, NJ native, Siverson was tabbed a Prime Performer last week after netting a pair of goals in her collegiate debut at Drexel.
NEC PRIME PERFORMERS
Kenna Kaut, BRY (So., A)
Kaut led Bryant in its 2022 season opener after netting three goals in a 14-11 defeat at Brown. She scored twice in the game's final 10:17, a stretch that saw the Bulldogs outscore the Bears by a 6-2 margin.
Madison Bradley, MSM (Jr., GK)
Bradley combined for 21 saves between the pipes in a 1-1 week for Mount St. Mary's. The junior goalie registered 12 stops and collected five ground balls to help lead the Mountaineers to a 10-9 win against UMBC. In a 10-9 defeat to La Salle, Bradley made nine saves and picked up three ground balls.
Dani Donoghue, MSM (Jr., M)
Donoghue was also named the NEC's Player of the Week after tallying a league-high seven points this past week. She netted six goals and padded her stat line with one assist, seven ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers. Donoghue tallied three points (2g, 1a) to help lead Mount St. Mary's past UMBC, 10-9, on Wednesday. Four days later, she went off four a team-high four goals in the Mountaineers' defeat at La Salle.
Zoe Hurlburt, MSM (Gr., M/A)
Hurlburt put together a solid stat line in a 1-1 week for Mount St. Mary's, scoring five goals while adding one assist, four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers. The graduate student propelled the Mountaineers to victory against UMBC on Wednesday, netting the game winner with 46 seconds remaining in regulation. Finishing with four goals and an assist against the Retrievers, she tacked on one goal in Mount St. Mary's defeat to La Salle on Saturday.
Autumn McHenry, SFU (Sr., M)
McHenry converted on 2-of-3 free-position shots to lead Saint Francis U with two goals against Youngstown State on Saturday. The senior midfielder added two ground balls, a pair of caused turnovers and four draw controls in the defeat.
Lauren DiStefano, WC (Sr., GK)
DiStefano was also named the NEC's Defensive Player of the Week after registering 17 saves in a 12-10 defeat to Fairfield, the preseason favorite to win the MAAC in 2022. She held the two-time defending MAAC Champion Stags to eight goals over the first three quarters, making 14 of her saves during that stretch.
Victoria Tucci, WC (Gr., M)
Tucci netted a pair of goals and tacked on an assist in Wagner's hard-fought, 12-10 defeat to two-time defending MAAC Champion Fairfield. Each of her five shots were put on target against the Stags, who are the MAAC's preseason favorite to repeat as league champion in 2022.
