NEC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Wyatt Dupell, So., GK, LEM
Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse
Dupell was a brick wall in front of the net during Le Moyne’s historic 1-0 win at No. 7 Syracuse on Monday night. The sophomore keeper made eight saves on 28 shots faced to propel the Dolphins to their first win over a nationally ranked opponent in the school’s Division I era. The shutout marked Dupell’s second career clean sheet and his first of the season. Le Moyne handed the Orange their first shutout defeat at home since the 2022 campaign.

NEC MEN'S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Daniil Kaban, Fr., F, Howard
Kharkiv, Ukraine/Sport Academy Zurich
In his second-ever collegiate start, Kaban netted the first goal in his college career during a 3-2 setback at UMBC. In the 69th minute, the first-year forward scored the equalizer off a cross from the right end line, courtesy of Bryson Baker. The Retrievers scored a late goal with under 10 minutes remaining to secure the win.

NEC PRIME PERFORMERS

Danail Sergiev, Sr., F, CSU
Totaled five points on two goals and one assist in a 1-1 week for Chicago State. Scored a goal and added an assist in the Cougar's first win as a member of the NEC in a 2-1 triumph at Detroit Mercy. 

Matt Giraldo, Jr., F, FDU
Netted two goals in a 2-0-1 week for the Knights, including the game-winner in the 28th minute of a 1-0 victory at UMBC.

Spencer King, Gr., GK, FDU
During three matches in goal, King recorded two shutouts and stopped nine shots over the weekend. Made a season-high five saves in a 0-0 draw at Navy. Posted a .750 save percentage on the week. 

Kevin Leonhard, Sr., F, FDU
In an unbeaten week for FDU, Leonhard totaled five points on two goals and one assist. Both of his goals along with his assist came in the Knights' 4-3 win against Fairfield.

NEC Player of the Week.

Jack Goodrich, R-Sr., B, LEM
Scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick in Le Moyne's historic 1-0 victory over No. 7 Syracuse. Led the team with two shots on goal in the match. 

Alan Martinez, Sr., M, LIU
The 2023 NEC Tournament MVP anchored the LIU defense and led the Shark counter attack during a scoreless stalemate on the road against a UConn squad that scored a combined eight goals in its first two matches of the season.
