NEC MEN’S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Simen Hestnes, LIU Brooklyn
So., M, Oslo, Norway/Wang Toppidrett

Hestnes was the offensive catalyst behind LIU Brooklyn’s two victories over No. 22 Rider and Manhattan last week. In the win over the Broncs on Friday, the sophomore scored the first goal of the game with 34:17 left to play in the match and then assisted on the game-winner with just under five minutes to play in regulation for LIU’s first win over a nationally-ranked opponent since 1989. On Sunday against Manhattan, Hestnes netted the game-winning goal and had two assists in a 4-1 victory over the Jaspers. Hestnes is now tied with reigning NEC Rookie of the Year Rasmus Hansen for the NEC lead in goals (three), assists (four) and points (ten).

NEC MEN’S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Faouzi Taieb, St. Francis Brooklyn

Taieb scored his first goal as a Terrier in last Wednesday's 2-1 win over NJIT. In the 66th minute, senior midfielder Salvatore Barone sent a corner kick to the far post and Taieb sent a header into the lower left corner of the net to tie the game up.
