NEC SWIMMER/ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Beatriz Gomes Angelo, St. Francis Brooklyn
Fr., Belo Horizonte, Brazil / Colegio Marista Dom Silverio

Gomes Angelo, who earned a co-rookie of the week award earlier this month, stands as the NEC’s top weekly honoree this time around. En-route to securing the NEC Swimmer of the Week honor and the rookie award to boot, the Brazilian-born Terrier posted two league-leading times at a multi-meet hosted by MAAC member Iona.  The freshman's 1,000-yard freestyle time (10:30.73) is more than 1.2 seconds better than the NEC’s second-place mark. Gomes Angelo finished the 500 free at Iona in 5:08.74, overtaking the previous NEC leader by 0.5 second.

NEC DIVER OF THE WEEK
Adrianna Warning, Wagner
Jr., Henderson, NV /Coronado/Indian River State College

Wagner’s junior transfer burst onto the scene by winning two events while setting a program record at Iona’s quad meet. Winning the 3-meter diving event, Warning shattered Wagner’s program record by more than two points with her 256.50 score. Warning’s 3-meter point total ranks as the second-highest in the NEC this season. Helping the Seahawks claim the meet title, she also won the 1-meter dive with a 231.05 showing.

NEC PRIME PERFORMERS

Central Connecticut senior Maddy Garber (Milford, MA/Milford) won two events - the 100 (1:04.56) and 200 (2:21.12) breaststroke - in a tri-meet with Saint Bonaventure and UConn.

Central Connecticut junior Aidan Devers (North Attleboro, MA/North Attleboro) won three individual events over the weekend for the Blue Devils, including a convincing 10-second victory in the 1,000-yard free.

Sacred Heart sophomore Lauren Somers (Hudson, NH/Alvirne) posted wins in the 50 (24.30) and 100 (52.58) free at the Iona quad-meet, continuing a solid start to the season that includes a Swimmer of the Week award (Week 2).

IN a dual meet against Providence, Bryant freshman Alexa Rivera (Boynton Beach, FL/Oxbridge Academy) won two individual events in the 50 free (24.54) and the 100 fly (58.60) to go along with two relay wins in the first perfect night of her Bulldog career. Rivera also played a large part in two relay victories for the Bulldogs in both the 200 free and 400 medley.

Wagner freshman Wyeth Spike (Portland, ME/Casco Bay) claimed two individual victories in the 200 IM (2:10.25) and the 200 backstroke (2:06.28) at the Iona quad-meet.
