NEC MEN’S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mario Mastrangelo, Saint Francis U

Mastrangelo rose to the challenge in winning his second straight NEC Player of the Week honor. The junior forward scored both goals in Saint Francis U’s 2-1 win over overtime win against Cal State Bakersfield on Sunday en-route to a 2-0 record at the Johann Memorial Classic on Sunday. Mastrangelo, who was awarded the Tournament MVP, headed home a goal in the 38th minute to open the scoring, then netted the golden goal in the 97th minute. The Venetia, PA native now has eight goals on the season, which ranks him second nationally.
NEC MEN’S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Alejandro Arribas, SHU

Arribas came up big down the stretch in Sacred Heart’s 2-1 overtime win over Saint Joseph’s last Tuesday. He scored the game-tying goal in the 89th minute to force OT, then made his way through the SJU defense and assisted on the game-winner in the 94th minute. The goal and assist were the first points in his collegiate career.
NEC PRIME PERFORMERS
SFU freshman midfielder Lucas Rosa (Atibaia, Brazil/COC Atibaia) scored the game-winning goal on a free-kick four minutes into overtime in SFU’s 1-0 win against UNLV.
CCSU junior midfielder Louis Beddouri (Bordeaux, France/Lycee Lauga Bayonne) assisted on two goals, including the game-winner, in CCSU’s 3-1 road win against Howard. Beddouri is now tied for the team lead in points (6).
Fairleigh Dickinson senior defender Jamie Leddy (Bateman’s Bay, Australia/Bateman’s Bay/Sussex CC) blocked a number of shots and helped the Knights to shutdown the nations leading goalscorer, NJIT’s Mamadou Guirassy) and limiting him to no goals and just one shot on goal in the 1-1 draw.
