NEC WOMEN’S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jess DeMeo, Bryant

DeMeo was unstoppable last week with 11 goals in a pair of Bryant one-goal setbacks against challenging competition. The two-time NEC Player of the Week delivered a hat trick and added an assist in a 15-14 setback to Brown in the Ocean State Cup last Wednesday, then exploded for a program record-tying eight goals in a 19-18 loss at Harvard on Saturday. She tied the back-and-forth affair up on four different occasions in the second half, including the equalizer with 1:57 to play before the Crimson netted a goal with 24 seconds on the clock to win it. The eight goal performance matched the second-most in the nation this season. DeMeo has scored at least three goals in every game this season and leads the NEC with 4.8 goals per game.
NEC WOMEN'S LACROSSE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

LeConte provided Saint Francis U with lockdown defense in a pair of wins last week that lifted the Red Flash’s record to 4-3 on the year. She recorded seven caused turnovers and nine ground balls to help SFU limit Gardner Webb and East Carolina to a combined 16 goals. LeConte finished with three ground balls and two caused turnovers in the 12-9 win over GWU, then had a career game against ECU with six ground balls and five caused turnovers. The five CT tied for ninth-most in a DI game this year.
NEC WOMEN’S LACROSSE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Ally Alliegro, Wagner

Alliegro earned her second straight NEC Rookie of the Week honor after she racked up nine points on six goals and three assists in a Wagner split. She scored four times in the Seahawks’ 10-9 win over Stetson on Thursday, including the game-winner 1:05 into overtime. She also contributed three ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers. Three days later in an 11-9 loss to UMass Lowell, she recorded a pair of goals, and added three assists, six draw controls and four ground balls. Alliegro has accumulated 14 goals and six assists over the first six games of her career.
NEC PRIME PERFORMERS
Bryant sophomore attacker Caitlin Breglia (Long Beach, NY/Long Beach) racked up seven goals and eight assists on the week for the Bulldogs. She tied a program record with 11 points against Harvard on Saturday, tallying five goals and six assists. The 11 points and six assists rank second and third, respectively, on the NCAA single-game chart this season.
CCSU sophomore midfielder Megan Szawlowski (Leeds, MA/Williston Northhampton) scored seven goals in a 19-4 win over Hartford last Tuesday. She converted 2-3 free-position opportunities, and added two ground balls, four draw controls and two caused turnovers.
LIU Brooklyn senior attacker Sierra O’Connor (Baltimore, MD/Perry Hall) led the Blackbirds with six goals and four assists last week. She recorded a hat trick and added three assists in a 19-2 win over Hartford on Saturday.
LIU Brooklyn freshman attacker Rachel Masullo (Selden, NY/Centerech) finished with seven goals and two assists in a Blackbird split. She scored four times, and supplied five ground balls, nine draw controls and a caused turnover against Siena last Tuesday.
Mount St. Mary’s junior keeper Jillian Petito (Ocean City, MD/Stephen Decatur) stopped a season-high 14 shots and posted a .609 save percentage in a 9-8 triple overtime loss to Lehigh on Friday.
NEC NOTES
Bryant junior attacker Jess DeMeo (Mount Sinai, NY/Mount Sinai) ranks 2nd nationally with 4.75 goals per game. The NEC Player of the Week is also 10th with 5.50 points per game. Teammate Caitlin Breglia (Long Beach, NY/Long Beach) is eighth in DI with 5.75 ppg.
