NEC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Waite set a career-high with 14 saves in FDU’s 1-0 setback to Cornell on Saturday in a matchup of top-five teams in the United Soccer Coaches Northeast Regional poll. The junior goalkeeper made six saves in the first half alone, only to stop eight more shots in the second half, including a pair of point blank shots from 10 yards out. The 14 saves against Cornell also tied for the third-most in the nation this season. Waite ranks second in the NEC in save percentage (.844), third in saves per game (5.40) and fourth in GAA (1.00).

Pesenti scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in Merrimack’s 3-0 win at Boston University last Tuesday. The sophomore midfielder also added an assist for a three-point night, which marked the first multi-point game of the season for a Warriors player.

- Merrimack graduate goalkeeper Lucas Rezende (Weymouth, Mass./Weymouth High School) made 11 saves in two games for the Warriors, incuding five in a 3-0 win at Boston University. Rezende posted a 0.93 goals-against average and .846 save percentage last week.
