NEC WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Maaike Broeresma, LIU
Jr., Bodegraven, Netherlands/De Goudse Waarden

In a quad meet against Rutgers, Buffalo, and Felician, Broeresma placed third in both the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke events touching in a 58.03 and 2:06.73 which are the fastest times in the NEC, respectively. The junior from Bodegraven, Netherlands swam a 57.92 100-yeard backstroke leg in the 400 individual medley relay, which also ranks first in the NEC. Broeresma additionally has a top NEC time in the 50-yard backstroke.

NEC WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Olivia McNicholas, Sacred Heart
Jr., Hicksville, NY/Kellenberg

McNicholas swept both boards at the Fairfield Invitational where she has gone undefeated the past three years. The junior from SHU started the evening by taking the one-meter title posting a score of 224.95 with a 15 point cushion. McNicholas then won the three-meter competition by 1.85 points with a 225.20 score. 

NEC WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Zuzu Nwaeze, Howard
Fr., Columbia, MD

Taking home back-to-back NEC Rookie of the Week honors, Nwaeze led off for Howard in a dual meet with Mount St. Mary's in the 400 yard freestyle relay, producing a 53.69 mark which ranks second in the NEC. The freshman from Columbia, MD won the 200-yard butterfly, clocking in at 2:11.12 (second in NEC). Nwaeze helped Howard win the 400-yard medley relay (4:00.13), covering the 100-yard butterfly in 59.34 (3rd fastest in NEC). Nwaeze previously recorded the fastest NEC time in the event at the Battle at the Burr, touching in 58.61).

NEC MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Miles Simon, Howard
Sr., Atlanta, GA

Simon currently holds the top times in the NEC in the 50 freestyle, 50 backstroke, 100 backstroke, 200 indivdual medley, and is second in the 100 freestyle. The senior took gold in the 100 free (45.72) and 200 IM (1:57.28) against Mount St. Marys in a dual meet and in the 200-yard IM at the Battle at the Burr. Simon swam a 20.51 leg in the  200 free relay and 23.41 in the 50 backstroke as part of the 200 yard individual medley relay from Battle at the Burr. Against the Mount, he touched with a time of 51.06 in the 100 backstroke in his lef of the 400 medley relay. Lastly, at the Potomac Relays he clocked a 19.89 leg in the 200 freestyle relay, a 23.96 backstroke leg in the 200 medley relay and a 50.49 leg in the 100 backstroke competing on HU's 400 medley quartet.

NEC MEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Jordan Walker, Howard
So., San Antonio, TX

Walker placed first in the one-meter competition against Mount St. Mary's, compiling 209.70 points. The sophomore from San Antonio, TX also finished fourth at Battle at the Burr, racking up 217.25 points in the same event.

NEC MEN'S CO-ROOKIES OF THE WEEK
Valentin Schnermann, St. Francis Brooklyn
Fr., Muenster, NRW, Germany/Pascal Gymnasium

Schnermann posted the top times in the NEC in the 200 free (1:42.43) and the 500 free (4:40.27) against Iona, finishing first and second, respectively. The rookie also swam the second fastest NEC time in the 200 individual medley to win the event with a time of 1:56.16.

Taj Benton, Howard
Fr., Baltimore, MD

Benton has recorded the top times in the NEC in the 50, 100 and 200 butterfly events. At the Battle at the Burr, the rookie clocked a 49.93 to win the 100 fly and against the Mount swam a 1:58.04 to take first in the 200 fly event. 

NEC WOMEN'S PRIME PERFORMERS

Cassidy Stotler, CCSU, So.
Stotler won twice in Central Connecticut's opening weekend at the Fairfield Invitational. The sophomore Blue Devil took gold in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:15.63, nearly a second ahead of the next NEC opponent. She also was a top finisher in the 100 butterfly at 1:06.01 which was a second faster than any other swimmer and nearly four second faster than any NEC competitor. Stotler snagged a runner-up finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:23.90.

Teyana Johnson, HU, Sr.
Johnson took first in the 1-meter dive aagaisnt Mount St. Mary's racking up 216.75 points.

Zuilda Nwaeze, HU, Fr.

Boel Bergquist, SFBK, Fr.
Bergquist took silver in the 200 freestyle (1:58.07; third in NEC) and 200 backstroke (2:12.85, seventh in NEC), and grabbed gold in the 200 IM (2:11.87, second in NEC) against Iona. 

Elayna Pistrin, SFBK, So.
Pistrin won the 100 (1:07.33, second in NEC) and 200 breaststroke (2:25.28, first in NEC) against Iona. The sophomore also placed third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:13.28 (seventh in NEC). 

Annie Jencova, WC, So.
Jencova took third in the 200 free (2:11.06, 1:58.74 converted...fourth in NEC) and first in the 100 free (59.53, 53.93 converted...fifth in NEC) at the Fairfield Invitational.

Aura Vilarrasa, WC, Fr.
Vilarrasa placed third in the 100 backstroke (1:05.69, 59.52 converted...second in NEC) and second in the 200 backstroke (2:22.32, 2:08.94 converted second in NEC) at the Fairfield Invitational. 

NEC MEN'S PRIME PERFORMERS

Mark-Anthony Beckles, HU, Sr.
Beckles took gold in the 50 (21.05) and 100 freestyle (45.53) at Battle at the Burr, and then broke his 50 freestlye time agaisnt the Mount touching in at 20.99. He owns the fastest NEC time in the 100 free and is ranked second in the 50 free.

Taj Benton, HU, Fr.
Benton has recorded the top times in the NEC in the 50, 100 and 200 butterfly events. At the Battle at the Burr, the rookie clocked a 49.93 to win the 100 fly and against the Mount swam a 1:58.04 to take first in the 200 fly event.

Lastly, at the Potomac Relays he clocked a 19.89 leg in the 200 freestyle relay, a 23.96 backstroke leg in the 200 medley relay and a 50.49 leg in the 100 backstroke competing on HU's 400 medley quartet.

Nalcai was the winner of the 200 backstroke (2:11.31, 1:58.97 converted...fourth in NEC) and 100 butterfly (57.92, 52.48 converted...second in NEC), and took bronze in the 200 butterfly (2:12.21, 1:59.78 converted...third in NEC) at the Fairfield Invitational.
