NEC MEN'S SOCCER CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Mason Christian, Gr., F, Howard
Fulton, MD/McDonogh School (James Madison)
In an unbeaten week for the Bison, Christian totaled five points on two scores and an assist. The graduate forward found the back of the net in the 25th minute of Howard’s 1-1 draw against George Washington last Tuesday. The Fulton, MD native showed up again in the Bison’s NEC opener against Central Connecticut by dishing an assist on Peter Gansallo’s de facto game winner in the 47th minute and added another goal to secure a 3-1 lead in the 66th minute. The Bison would go onto win, 4-1. Christian is tied for third in the league in both goals and points this season with four and nine, respectively.

Joschi Schelb, So., M, Saint Francis U
Freiburg, Germany/Angell
Schelb earned his second NEC Player of the Week honor in 2024 after firing two goals into the back of the net during Saint Francis U’s conference opening victory against Stonehill on Sunday. The sophomore midfielder broke a scoreless stalemate in the 28th minute after the Red Flash forced a turnover on the Skyhawks’ side of the pitch. The Freiburg, Germany native would score his second goal off an impressive counterattack in the final 20 minutes of the match to secure a 2-0 triumph. Schelb leads the league with seven goals and 16 points. He is also tied for the conference lead with two game-winning goals.

NEC MEN'S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Zach Simmons, Fr., M, Howard
Rockwall, TX/Rockwall
Simmons found the back of the net once and dished out an assist in a 1-0-1 week for Howard. The freshman midfielder assisted on the Bison’s lone goal in a 1-1 deadlock vs. George Washington last Tuesday. Simmons went on to score in Howard’s 4-1, conference-opening victory against CCSU on Sunday. His goal marked the first of his collegiate career.

Made two stops in a 0-0 shutout against LIU. 

Kevin Leonhard, Sr., F, FDU
Scored a goal and added an assist in FDU's 2-2 draw at Le Moyne.

Mason Christian, Gr., F, HU
Received NEC Co-Player of the Week accolades.

Jackson Lewis, Gr., F, HU
Tallied a goal and an assist in Howard's 4-1 victory over CCSU. 

Zach Simmons, Fr., M, HU
Claimed NEC Rookie of the Week honors. 

Justin Pham, R-Fr., F, LEM
Scored the match-tying goal in Le Moyne's 2-2 tie vs. FDU. It marked the first score of his collegiate career. 

Eoin Gawronski, Sr., GK, LIU
Made seven saves to earn a clean sheet in LIU's 0-0 stalemate at Chicago State.
