NEC MEN’S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dominick Falanga, St. Francis Brooklyn
Jr., M, Brooklyn, NY/New Utrecht

Falanga scored a goal in each of St. Francis Brooklyn’s NEC wins against Sacred Heart and Fairleigh Dickinson over the weekend. Against SHU, Falanga scored from 15 yards out with 6:08 remaining in regulation to give the Terriers a 2-0 lead and the eventual win. Against FDU on Sunday, the junior scored his third goal of the season to help the Terriers to a 3-0 win over the Knights. St. Francis Brooklyn now sits atop the NEC standings with a 2-0 record.

NEC MEN’S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Oliver Larente, Bryant
Fr., GK, Garches, France/American School of Paris

In his first collegiate game, Larente made four stops in Bryant’s 1-1 tie against defending NEC champion LIU Brooklyn on Friday. The freshman made his biggest save in the 75th minute when he made a sliding stop to keep the game tied 1-1.

NEC HEADLINES

- In the October 4, NSCAA Division I Men Northeast Region Poll, Saint Francis U was ranked sixth with defending NEC champion LIU Brooklyn moving up two spots to number four.

- LIU Brooklyn’s 7-3 win was the best by a Blackbirds unit at home since a 7-3 win over Iona on September 18, 1996 and was the largest margin of victory by LIU since defeating Sacred Heart, 6-0, on September 12, 1998.
