NEC MEN’S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Guscott scored the golden goal in LIU Brooklyn's 2-1 overtime victory over NJIT last Wednesday. The sophomore recorded his fourth marker of the season less than four minutes into the extra period off a pass from Naeem Charles. The Kingston, Jamaica native is now tied for the team lead in goals and is one of four Blackbirds to have recorded double-figure points with 10 on the year.

Barone netted his second goal of the season in LIU Brooklyn’s 2-1 overtime victory against NJIT. The Brooklyn native took a misplayed ball and flicked a shot over the goalkeeper’s head to give the Blackbirds a 1-0 lead 18 minutes into the game. Barone currently leads all NEC freshmen in assists (three) and points (seven).
NEC HEADLINES
- In the September 27 NSCAA Division I Men Northeast Region Poll, Saint Francis Brooklyn was ranked 10th with defending NEC champion LIU Brooklyn was ranked sixth and Saint Francis U ranked third.
- With its 2-1 overtime victory over NJIT on Wednesday, LIU Brooklyn finished with its most wins (6) during a non-conference season since going 7-3 in 1992.
- Conference play begins on Friday, October 7 with Robert Morris taking on Fairleigh Dickinson at 2 pm, LIU Brooklyn heads to Bryant for a 3 pm kickoff and St. Francis Brooklyn will kick off at 7 pm against Sacred Heart.
