NEC CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Thomas produced a 20-and-10 weekend while going up against a pair of prime opponents who feature a combined 14-3 NEC record. The sophomore forward averaged 21.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per outing. She shot 48.6 percent from the floor, including a 6-for-9 clip from downtown. Thomas put up a double-double against first-place Robert Morris, scoring a game-high 24 points and securing 12 caroms against the NEC’s top-ranked defense. The Empire State product accounted for 17 points in 18 first-half minutes against RMU, leading the Sharks into the break with a 35-31 edge. Thomas spearheaded the Sharks’ triumphant effort against Saint Francis U on Monday. Playing 31 minutes, the 5-foot-10 sophomore totaled 19 points, eight rebounds and two assists in a 71-53 home win that bumped the Red Flash out of second place. Thomas led all scorers with 12 second-half points in the victory.

EMILIJA KRISTA GRAVA, WAGNER

Krista Grava paced the circuit in scoring during Wagner’s two-game trip through New England. She averaged 26.5 points and 7.0 boards per outing. The second-year Seahawk shot 66.7 percent from the floor while tallying 53 points in 65 minutes. Krista Grava produced the first 30-point performance in a NEC game this season, pouring in 35 at Central Connecticut. Krista Grava, who owns the top-two single-game scoring totals amongst NEC leaders this season, sank 12 field goals and went a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line during the 35-point effort. The Latvian-born baller led the Seahawks in scoring for the third straight game when she netted 18 points during a 58-45 triumph over Bryant. Paving the way for Wagner’s first road win, Krista Grava also grabbed seven rebounds and made two steals in Smithfield. The 6-foot forward made all 16 free throw attempts last week.
 
 
NEC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Dettwiller shot 90 percent from the field during the Red Flash’s two-game stay in Brooklyn. Powering SFU to a 67-59 win on the front end of the road swing, the freshman center tallied a game-high 17 points and nine rebounds over 21 minutes against St. Francis Brooklyn. The 6-foot-4 post player, who did not commit a turnover in the victory, made all seven of her field goal attempts en-route to a career-high point total. Dettwiller scored six points over the final 2:50 to salt away the win in Brooklyn Heights. Two days later, the freshman tallied four points and three rebounds during a 16-minute stint at LIU.
