NEC MEN’S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Joe Saggese, Sacred Heart
R-Sr., A, Saint James, NY/Smithtown East (Drexel)
Saggese totaled six points on Saturday to help lead the Pioneers to a victory in their conference opener against Robert Morris. The senior scored three goals and added three assists, to go along with two ground balls, in Sacred Heart’s 18-16 win over the reigning NEC champions. Four of Saggese’s six points on the afternoon were recorded in the second half. The NEC’s points leader has produced at least six points in five out of his eight games on the year, including six-point efforts in each of his last two outings. Saggese tied former Pioneer Chris Lukowski for second place on the team’s career points list with 173 (106 goals, 67 assists) in 53 games. The Saint James, NY product picked up his second NEC Player of the Week honor of the season, and currently ranks No. 9 in the country in points per game (5.25).
NEC MEN’S LACROSSE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Joshua Davies, Mount St. Mary’s
Jr., D, Richmond, VA/James River
Davies earned his first NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor following a pair of strong showings in games against No. 17 ranked Johns Hopkins last Tuesday and in the Mount's 10-7 conference opening win over Bryant on Saturday. Davies combined to cause six turnovers and three ground balls in the two victories. The Richmond, VA native caused three turnovers and picked up his first career assist against the Blue Jays. Davies then caused three more turnovers and a pair of ground balls versus the Bulldogs. Davies is part of a Mountaineer defensive unit that has not allowed their opponents to reach double-digit goals in three out of their last five games.
NEC MEN’S LACROSSE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jason Knox, Hobart
Fr. A, Huntsville, Ontario/St. Andrew’s
Knox picked up his third NEC Rookie of the Week honor of the season after scoring a team-high four goals in Saturday’s 13-7 victory against Wagner. Knox got the scoring started for the Statesmen with a goal at the 3:07 mark of the first quarter. He would go on to add another goal in the second quarter off of an assist from Chris Aslanian, before helping to build a game-high seven-goal advantage with two goals in the third. Knox has recorded hat tricks in three out of his six games on the year. The freshman leads the Statesmen with 19 goals, and stands first in the NEC with 3.17 goals per game.

Marc O’Rourke, BRY – SO – A
- Tied a Bryant Division I single-game record with a career-high six goals against Fairfield.
- Recorded a hat trick in Bryant’s NEC opener against Mount
Jason Knox, HOB – FR – A
- Scored a team high four goals in a victory over Wagner, his third hat trick in six games.
Joshua Davies, MSM – JR – D
- Caused six turnovers and added three ground balls in a pair of games against Johns Hopkins and Bryant.
Tyson Gibson, RMU – SR – M
- Led RMU with seven assists and 13 points on the week, including a four goal and four assist showing against Marquette. Gibson has recorded a point in 28 out of his last 29 games since 2017.
Corson Kealey, RMU – SO – A
- Matched his career single-game high with five points (four goals and an assist) on Tuesday against Marquette.
- Became the 10th different player in Robert Morris history to record a double hat trick, after a six-goal effort in the conference opener against Sacred Heart.
Connor O’Reilly, SHU – SR – M
- After entering the 2019 season with just two career goals, O’Reilly is now third on the team with 11 this season, following a season-high four goal performance against the Colonials.
Joe Saggese, SHU – R-SR- A
- Scored three goals with three assists and two ground balls in SHU’s victory over RMU
Max Tuttle, SHU – SR – M
- Scored four goals against Robert Morris. On his fourth goal, Tuttle moved past Chris Lukowski and into first place on the Pioneers' all-time career points list.
Billy Jardeleza, STJ – SO – FO
- Went 20-of-28 at the X with a game-high 14 ground balls in Saint Joseph’s 15-11 win over NJIT.
Thomas Tarleton, STJ – SR – D
- Set single-game career-highs with five ground balls and three caused turnovers against NJIT.
