NEC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lucas Rosa, Saint Francis University
Jr., MF, Atibaia, Brazil/COC Atibaia

Rosa scored the golden goal in SFU’s 1-0 double-overtime victory at Mount St. Mary’s on Friday evening. The junior midfielder broke the scoreless tie in the 101st minute with a strike from the top of the box that found the back of the net for the win. Rosa currently ranks fourth nationally in game-winning goals (5)  and amongst the top-25 in total goals (10).

NEC MEN'S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Peter Kozlej, Fairleigh Dickinson University
Fr., MF, Toms River, NJ/Toms River East

Kozlej scored his second goal of the season in a 2-1 double-overtime setback to Merrimack on Sunday. The freshman midfielder lined a hard shot from just beyond 20 yards out into the upper left corner of the goal to tie the game up, 1-1, just before halftime. Kozlej is currently tied for fourth on the team in total points (6).

NEC PRIME PERFORMERS

- SFU junior midfielder Lucas Rosa (Atibaia, Brazil/ COC Atibaia) scored the golden goal in the 101st minute of the Red Flash’s 1-0 double-overtime victory against Mount St. Mary’s on Friday.

- Bryant senior forward Trevor Lyne (Feeding Hills, MA/Suffield Academy) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over FDU on Friday. The win also secured an NEC tournament berth for the Bulldogs.

- Bryant sophomore goalkeeper Will Swart (Little Compton, RI/Portsmouth) posted three saves in a 1-0 shutout of FDU. Two of the three saves came at point blank range in the final five minutes of the contest.

- Merrimack junior forward Filippo Begliardi Ghidini (Ravenna, Italy/Liceo Linguistico Dante Alighieri) scored twice in Merrimack’s 6-0 win over CCSU on Friday.

AROUND THE NEC

- Merrimack is currently ranked 8th (10-2-2) in the latest NCAA DI Men Northeast Region poll. Saint Francis U (9-5-0) is ranked 9th.

- With its 2-1 double overtime victory against FDU on Sunday, Merrimack clinched the program’s first NEC title in its first year of Division I competition.
