NEC WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Mariajose Lopez, St. Francis Brooklyn
Sr., San Miguel de Allende, Mexico/Itesm Campus Queretaro

In a dual meet against Stony Brook, Lopez helped her team to a 130-113 victory after earning a pair of gold medals in the distance events. The senior won the 1000-yard freestyle in 10:35.68, which was just 2.44 seconds off her top time in the NEC. In the 500-yard freestyle, Lopez swam a 5:11.74 (5th in NEC) to stand tallest on the podium and was part of the 200-yard medley relay team that earned a second place finish with a time of 1:42.39. 

NEC WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Olivia McNicholas, Sacred Heart
Jr., Hicksville, NY/Kellenberg Memorial

Four-for-four! McNicholas is setting the standard from the diving platforms in a stellar start to the 2022-23 season as she received her fourth-straight NEC Diver of the Week honor. The junior broke the school record in the three-meter dive for the second week in a row with a winning score of 246.22, approximately two points better than her prior mark. McNicholas swept the dive events after placing first from the one-meter board with a personal-best score of 243.14 on Saturday against Siena.

NEC WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lorenza Kobaic, St. Francis Brooklyn
Fr., Matulji, Croatia/Prva Sušacka Hrvatska Gimnazija

On Saturday in a dual meet against Stony Brook, Kobaic helped the 200-yard medley relay team to a first place finish with a time of 1:49.29. The rookie won the 50-yard freestyle touching the wall in 24.89 (tied for 8th in NEC) and collected a second gold medal in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.01 which is 0.26 seconds off her best time this season that ranks 15th in the NEC.

NEC WOMEN'S PRIME PERFORMERS

Meghan Hammarlund, SHU, So.
On Saturday in a meet against Siena, Hammarlund doubled up the backstroke events winning a pair of gold medals. In the 100-yard backstroke, the sophomore clocked a 1:01.93 (24th in NEC) and then touched the wall in 2:12.80 (13th in NEC) in the 200-yard backstroke. Hammarlund led off the 200-yard medley relay race quartet that placed second.

Charlotte Kaduson, SHU, Fr.
In a dual meet against Siena, Kaduson took gold in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:55.39 which was 3.69 seconds off her best time that ranks sixth in the NEC. The rookie took fourth place in the 500-yard freestyle, touching in at 5:24.74, just 3.38 seconds behind her PR in the event.

Melanie Sanchez, SHU, So.
On Saturday, Sanchez swept the butterfly events against Siena, recording a first place time of 2:12.74 (7th in NEC) in the 200-yard butterfly. The sophomore touched the wall in 1:01.03 in the 100-yard butterfly, which was just 0.07 seconds off her best time this season which ranks 13th in the NEC. Sanchez also swam the 200-yard medley relay and the 800-yard freestyle relay with a 2:02.10 lead off leg time.

Elayna Pistrin, SFBK, So.
Pistrin helped the 200-yard medley relay team to a gold finish with a time of 1:49.29, along with a pair of victories in her individual events against Stony Brook. The sophomore won the 400-yard individual medley relay touching in at 4:41.09 (5th in NEC) and grabbed another gold medal in the 100-yard breaststroke finishing in 1:06.93, a showing just 0.29 seconds off her third-ranked time in the conference. 

Abby Scruton, SFBK, So.
Record-setter! Scruton set a new team record with a score of 234.40 from the one-meter board on Saturday against Stony Brook. The sophomore then took a fifth place finish in the three-meter dive, accruing 174.34 points. 

Jami Hepburn, STO, So.
Hepburn had a strong showing on Saturday agaisnt Assumption placing first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:34.52 (20th in NEC), followed by a silver medal finish in the 100-yard breastroke. She touched the wall in 1:08.96 (13th in NEC). 

Sydney Stockwell, STO, Jr.
On Saturday against Assumption, Stockwell earned a pair of gold medals after swimming 1:00.12 in the 100-yard backstroke and 1:02.12 in the 100-yard butterfly. The junior placed second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:12.63 (11th in NEC).
