NEC WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Merrimack continued its unbeaten streak last week as the Warriors won their sixth straight match and improved to 5-0 in NEC play. Golden led the way for the Warriors in their two victories with four goals, including her first career hat trick against NEC foe Delaware State on Sunday. Two of Golden's goals came in the first 10 minutes of the match to give Merrimack an early 2-0 lead. Just over 11 minutes later the junior midfielder found the back of the net for the third time against the Hornets. In Thursday's 6-2 win over Le Moyne, Golden added an insurance goal to put the Warriors up 3-1 early in the second half. Golden's eight points last week bumped her total to 10 on the season, which puts her at 10th in the league in scoring. She also ranks eighth in goals (four), and 10th in goals (0.33) and points per game (0.83).

NEC WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Andrea Ougaard, FDU

The defending NEC Tournament champions registered their third consecutive shutout and have now improved to 4-2 and sit in fourth place in the NEC standings. Ougaard anchored the Knights' defense in their 2-0 victory on the against LIU on Sunday. The sophomore defender recently made the change to playing center back in the FDU back line, which has made her a leader during the Knights' strong start to league play. Ougaard also helped set up FDU's second goal in its win over LIU. She delivered a cross-field pass to Lina Dirnberger on the left side of the field, who then crossed the ball to Katia Cárdaba to put the Knights up two in the 60th minute.

NEC WOMEN'S SOCCER CO-ROOKIES OF THE WEEK
Katia Cárdaba, FDU
Fr., Midfield
Madrid, Spain/Colegios Ramón y Cajal
Cárdaba played a part in both goals scored in FDU's 2-0 victory at LIU on Sunday. The freshman midfielder scored the game winning goal for the Knights in the 60th minute off a cross from Dirnberger towards the back post. In the 75th minute, Cárdaba returned the favor to Dirnberger with a pass to her in the box to set up FDU's second goal of the day. With her goal and assist, Cárdaba recorded three points in the match. The Spain native scored the first game-winning goal of her career and added her first assist in a Knights' uniform.

Samantha James, Howard
Fr., Midfield/Forward
Herndon, VA/Oakton
James scored the second goal of her collegiate career on Sunday with an incredible shot from outside the 18-yard box that she bent into the top right corner as Howard defeated Sacred Heart 3-1 on the road. James' goal gave the Bison a 2-0 lead late in the first half and the newcomer also assisted on Howard's first goal of the game in the 11th minute. She finished with three points in the victory. James is currently tied for first in the NEC with five assists and is tied for second with 0.36 assists per game.

NEC PRIME PERFORMERS

Katia Cárdaba, FDU (Fr., M)
  • Registered three points off a goal and an assist in a 2-0 win over LIU on Sunday.
  • Scored the first game-winning goal of her career.
  • Tallied the first assist of her career. 
  • Third FDU player to receive NEC Rookie of the Week honors this season.
  • Selected NEC Co-Rookie of the Week.

Lina Dirnberger, FDU (Sr., M)

  • Totaled three points on a goal and an assist as FDU defeated LIU 2-0 on Sunday. 
  • Assisted on the game-winning goal.
  • Scored the Knights' second goal of the day to secure the 2-0 win in the 75th minute. 
  • Netted her first collegiate goal. 

Andrea Ougaard, FDU (So., D)

  • Anchored the FDU backline as the Knights posted their third straight clean sheet in a 2-0 win at LIU on Sunday.
  • Set up Dirnberger with the ball to feed Cárdaba to score in the 60h minute.
  • Named NEC Defensive Player of the Week
  • Second FDU player to be selected as NEC Defensive Player of the Week this season.

Samantha James, HOW (Fr., M/F)

  • Posted a goal and an assist in Howard 3-1 win at Sacred Heart on Sunday.
  • Scored a highlight reel goal from outside the 18-yard box in the 36th minute to give the Bison a 2-0 lead.
  • Assisted on the game winning goal in the 11th minute. 
  • Tied for first in the league with five assists and tied for second with 0.36 assists per game.
  • Tabbed NEC Co-Rookie of the Week. 

Jillian Golden, MC (Jr., M)

  • Scored four goals in a 2-0 week for Merrimack.
  • Delivered her first career hat trick in a 4-0 win over Delaware State on Sunday.
  • Netted a goal early in the second half to give the Warriors a 3-1 lead against Le Moyne on Thursday.
  • Ranks 10th in the league in both points (10) and points per game (0.83). 
  • Tied for eighth in the NEC in both goals (four) and goals per game (0.33).
  • Selected NEC Player of the Week.

Adrianna Marinello, MC (So., F)

  • Scored twice in Merrimack's 6-2 win over Le Moyne on Thursday. 
Lauren Pyle, SFU (Jr., M)
  • Generated the game-winning goal for SFU in the Red Flash' 1-0 win against Le Moyne on Sunday.
  • Pyle hit a bullet of a shot from 30+ yards out over the goalkeeper's outstretched hands to give SFU the lead. 
  • Added an assist in SFU's 3-1 setback against Wagner of Thursday. 
  • Totaled three point over the weekend and now has seven on the season. 
Hannah Anselmo, STO (So., M/F)
  • Scored the game-tying goal and assisted on the game-winning goal (83') during Stonehill's 3-2 win against Wagner on Sunday. 
  • Registered three points in a 1-0 week for the Skyhawks. 
Grace Caso, STO (Jr., M/F)
  • Scored the game-winnning goal in the 83rd minute as Stonehill defeated Wagner 3-2 on Sunday.
  • Caso leads the Skyhawks in goals this season with three. 
  • It marked her first game-winning goal of the season.
Madison Carr, WC (Gr., F)
  • Registered four points on one goal and two assists in a 1-1 week for Wagner. 
  • Played a part on both of the Seahawks' goals in their 3-2 setback against Stonehill on Sunday with a goal and an assist.
  • Added an assist in Wagner's 3-1 victory against SFU on Thursday. 
  • Tied for fourth in the conference for assists with four and tied for fifth in assists per game with 0.31. 
  • Tied for 10th in the NEC with 10 points. 
  • Named a NEC Prime Performer for the second time this season. 
Juliana Rafaniello, WC (Gr., M/F)
  • Netted two goals in Wagner's 3-1 victory against SFU on Thursday. 
  • First multi-goal game of her career.
